Heathmont College offers Scholarships to students entering Year 7 in five separate areas, academic excellence, sport, music performance & citizenship.  Student applications for 2016 scholarships must be submitted prior to the last week of August 2015.

Academic Excellence

These students will have demonstrated academic excellence in a variety of learning areas.  They may have pursued their interests with involvement in activities outside of Primary School curriculum. These students will display an interest in continuing to pursue their academic goals and becoming involved within the College’s enhancement programs.
There will be two scholarships offered in this area.

Sport

This student will have exhibited a strong interest and participation in sport.  They will have demonstrated a willingness to encourage and lead peers in participation and sportsmanship.  They will show a keen and active interest in all College sporting activities, particularly in the College interschool sport and sporting carnivals.
There will be one scholarship offered in this area.

Music Performance

This student will have exhibited a passion for music and performing.  They will be learning an instrument and/or vocal and have a strong interest in performing with their peers.  They will show a keen and active interest in all College music activities particularly in the College ensemble and/or choir and bands’ program.
There will be one scholarship offered in this area.

Citizenship

This student will have exhibited leadership qualities, an inquisitive mind, a social awareness and an ability to engage with peers and the broader community.  They will have a demonstrated history of good citizenship amongst peers, their primary school and broader communities.
There will be one scholarship offered in this area.

Sustainability

This student will have exhibited an awareness of sustainable issues and the impace on the enviornment. They will be able to demonstrate a commitment to improving sustainability practices through positive actions within their own community.
There will be one scholarship offered in this area.

Please note:
Heathmont College will not require an endorsement from your child’s primary school to accompany an application for a scholarship.
The College will, however, be asking for parent/guardian permission for us to contact the student’s school for a confidential reference.
