Our Students
It is our firm belief that an individual’s skills in relationships are a vital determinant of success in life. Hence, there is a need to not only enable powerful and purposeful learning to occur in our classrooms, but to establish and maintain an environment whereby we achieve social, emotional and personal development of our students.
Through fostering positive, respectful and trusting relationships, we have an opportunity to increase our students school connectedness and make them feel better about themselves and the school, and ultimately help them achieve success in learning and life.
We are developing a culture whereby we focus on improvement in all, not just some, students and in all areas of their development. We are passionate about delivering the best available education to our students – establishing a culture of not accepting less than genuine effort; aiming for quality work more often, and doing it in such an engaging manner we can lift their aspirations.
It is our intention for teachers to establish standards for our students in ways that promote a community acceptance of being your best. We recognise that having all students pushing the boundaries of improvement in all facets of their development requires an increased focus on the building of resilience in students. Improving student resilience – sense of self, as well as their capacity and willingness to assess and take risks- is vital. Every aspect of our interactions with others in a school community has a powerful capacity to create a supportive, learning dynamic.
