Year 7 Camp @ Phillip Island Adventure Resort

The Year 7 Transition Camp for 2023 will take place at Phillip Island Adventure Resort. The aim of the camp is to provide opportunities for students to get to know each other and their teachers in an informal, challenging and exciting atmosphere. Some of the activities offered to students will include professional surfing lessons, a giant swing and high ropes course. As an important part of the Year 7 transition program, the camp takes place early in the year. Students will participate in a camp information session during the first week of school in 2023.

Catch Up Photo Day @ Hope Centre

Students who need to have a photo taken (or retaken) will have an activity on their Compass schedule.  Please ensure you attend the Catch Up Photo Session at the required time.

The schedule is as follows:
12:45 – 1:15 Photo retake for students and staff
1:20 – 1:45 Photos for students and staff absent from the previous photo day
1:45 Student Leadership Photos (School Captains, Vice Captains and Prefects)

Please be aware that the photographers will be packing up at 2:00pm.

All VM Students will plan and implement group activities to promote health and wellbeing and evaluate the effectiveness of their activities in building resilience, and understanding, of their own personal character strengths. Students will be given the opportunity to improve confidence, to problem solve and develop strategies to overcome challenges. The planned activities can enhance social skills through recognising and accepting personal limitations and provide students with an opportunity to work on communication and teamwork skills as outlined in the Personal Development Skills study design. The activities expose students to recreational activities that help improve fitness and wellness.

Students will be led through the OHS requirements that are implemented by the business to ensure the safe operation of the facility. Students will participate in a risk assessment of the activities being undertaken, which is aligned to Work Related Skill outcomes. Students will use their experience to complete assessments in Literacy by using a variety of text types to reflect on the program.

12 OE: Rafting- Warrandyte @ Warrandyte Bridge Carpark, Warrandyte

Year 12 students will partake in a rafting journey along Warrandyte River. This excursion links with the Year 12’s first SAC and will be used as evidence in understanding Area of Study 1 (Relationships with the Outdoor Environment).

Students and staff will be meeting at RINGWOOD STATION (on the Eastland side) at 8.45am sharp. The group will then catch the 364 bus to the Warrandyte Bridge carpark where we will meet ‘Warrandyte Adventure Tours’. Students will catch the 364 back to Ringwood Station and will be dismissed at 3pm. If students are getting dropped/picked up directly from Warrandyte please make contact with Meg Dargan to confirm details at meg.dargan@education.vic.gov.au
