Students will be visiting KIOSC at Swinburne University (Wantirna Campus) to conduct experiments related to the Unit 3 Biology course.
Results collected on this day will be used to complete the SAC for this Area of Study.
Students will attend Melbourne Legacy’s 91st ANZAC Commemoration Service for Students on the forecourt of the Shrine of Remembrance. They will learn about the impacts of war and how it has impacted Melbourne as a society. Students will also learn about the significance of the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne culture. Students will also walk through the grounds of the Shrine of Remembrance.
Afterwards, students will explore Alexandra Gardens, Royal Botanical Gardens, Birrarung Marr and Federation Square.

Students will complete classes until lunchtime followed by the College Cross Country in the afternoon. This is a whole school event and all students are expected to participate as a runner or walker. Students that do not have parental consent to leave the school grounds will still participate in the event but will participate in a modified activity within the school grounds. There is no cost associated with this event.
This excursion to Melbourne CBD will allow students to take a portfolio of photographs that explore the theme of black and white photography for their practical assessment for their Media Photography class.
Students will need to demonstrate their understanding of camera settings/techniques and the compositional rules. Students will develop their skills to explore a theme creatively and originally in small groups within a designated zone of the CBD. Students will have prepared planning material prior to the excursion stating the purpose, impact and desired outcome of their photoshoot.
Students need to have a valid Myki Card with credit on the card. Please ensure students bring their own mask to adhere to public transport guidelines.

As part of our annual Indonesian Cultural day celebrations, Heathmont College Indonesian students are invited to assist with the running and coordination of this cultural event, held at Heathmont College. There will be about 130 Grade 5/6 students from local primary schools taking part in this event. Schools invited to attend are Marlborough PS, Bayswater North PS, Great Ryrie PS, The Basin PS, Heathmont East PS, Boronia Heights PS, Bayswater PS and Ferntree Gully PS. In relation to this, students have been selected as a student leader to assist with the teaching of Indonesian language, songs, dances, masks making and martial arts. Students will need to bring their own snack, but lunch will be provided.
Students attending the Retreat Camp have successfully been selected from application. It is a 3 day camp to connect with the other participants of the Senior Student Wellbeing Action Teams run by Maroondah City Council. Through wellbeing workshops and activities the camp aims to:

- Experience for your resume
- Pathway for future opportunities
- Have an experience you wouldn’t get at school
