An educational visit to Road to Zero at the Melbourne Museum comprises two experiences:
- Curriculum-linked programs in the purpose-built Learning Studio.
- An immersive and exploratory Experience Space showcasing the latest multi-sensory interactive technologies.
Students respond to the Road to Zero exhibition content by creating a collaborative health campaign video. The program begins with a facilitated introduction covering the key features of successful behaviour change campaigns. In small groups, students use a range of information sources to research and reflect on road safety behaviours of 14 -17-year-old road user groups (either pedestrians or cyclists). Students then apply their findings to create a brief video campaign that reinforces positive road use among their peers.
The Road to Zero Experience Space allows students to explore a range of interactive exhibits at their own pace. A Zero card enables students to interact with the exhibits and record their experiences.
As students discover the principles of Towards Zero, they’re encouraged to consider a future free of death and serious injury on our roads, and how we might achieve this.

The Year 10 students have been learning about businesses; why people start them, service and trading businesses, market research, operating costs, breakeven analysis, pricing strategies and budgeting. In order to put the theory into practice, I would like them to run a market day stall in groups of 2-3 students and sell a product. The intention is to hold this outside of the canteen area during a lunchtime and students have to provide a product/service. Leading up to this day, students will apply their learning to plan for the supply of their products, the pricing strategies used and to undertake market research to find out what their peers/staff would want to buy.
