Description/Educative Purpose:

As part of our SWEL program all Year 7 students will explore how technology can play healthy and unhealthy roles in their lives. The wonderful presenters from Cyber Safety Australia, an external provider, will come to Heathmont College to work with all Year 7 students about how students can:

Recognise the increasing demands of technology in their daily lives, including impacts on their sleep
Uncover how their choices and actions shape their online identity, including how they are perceived by others
Explore strategies for managing their physical, social and emotional wellbeing
Know their role and responsibilities as online citizens and acknowledge the impact of a digital footprint
Uncover Australian laws relating to cyber-bullying, consent and image-based abuse and the Online Safety Act

This event will occur during period 3 on Monday 9th September.
