4 — CONTENTS Our Learning Community Heathmont College is a growing, coeducational secondary school. It is located in the leafy east Melbourne suburb of Heathmont on the corner of Waters Grove and Marlborough Road in a beautiful garden setting. Our personalised learning approach supports each student’s growth and unique learning journey. The broad ranging, engaging curriculum designed to develop the whole student, produces positive, ethical and community minded citizens who have the capacity to live successful, meaningful lives. Our vertical House system allows us to best meet the learning and wellbeing needs of those at varying ages and stages of development. It is facilitated by the positive, respectful relationships our teachers establish with students both in and out of class. This underpins the safe, inclusive, caring culture that allows students to feel a genuine sense of connection to the school. The fact that this pride in the school lasts long after graduation is an important indicator of our effectiveness. Innovative programs that equip students to thrive are another Heathmont College hallmark. In addition to our vibrant performing arts and sport programs, students benefit from our outstanding language offerings including a German language immersion program, our strong leadership program, and our international focus. The Year 12 Study Centre provides an additional ideal space for our senior students to work collaboratively or independently.
