Where:
Melbourne Museum

Facilitated by knowledgeable road safety educators, excursions to Road to Zero comprise two parts:

Experience Space – An exploratory exhibition of 13 immersive experiences that engage students with critical road safety themes.
Learning Studio – In the purpose built learning hub, students create a public health campaign video. They then apply their learning to a team-based challenge using touch table technology. Please note, students will NOT have access to the main exhibits at the Melbourne Museum during this excursion

Following our time at the Melbourne Museum, students will have some self directed time where students will be required to stay in small groups and can experience aspects of the City of Melbourne. Students will be able to communicate with staff via mobile phone during this section of the excursion.

Students need to meet at Heathmont Station by 8:35am for an 8:51am train. Students will be dismissed when the train arrives at Ringwood Station (scheduled to arrive at 3:02pm). Students are then free to exit the train or stay on and continue travelling along the Belgrave line.

Please be aware that there is some possibility for all of our city excursions that we may end up catching the earlier train that is scheduled to arrive at Ringwood station at 2:47pm. If this does occur, students will be dismissed upon arrival to Ringwood Station. Students needing to travel along the Belgrave line will need to wait 15minutes for the next Belgrave line train.

Students MUST have a valid Youth Myki card and MUST touch on/touch off to catch public transport. If students are seen not using public transport correctly, they may be banned from future excursions.

A reminder that in 2026, students require a Youth Myki to be able to access free travel on public transport.

Students will have the opportunity to purchase food/drink (with their own money) during this excursion.
