Right now, there is no a clear Rite of Passage for boys into manhood. Because of this, boys often initiate themselves into manhood, which usually results in risk-taking behaviour to prove their masculinity (eg. binge drinking, objectifying women or risk taking). The purpose of The Man Cave programs, is to fill this gap. To provide boys with a safe, healthy and contained Rite of Passage into manhood. The Man Cave programs are designed to be transformational, and to support the psychological and emotional development of a boy, so he can become a healthy young man. This is how Man Cave is redefining the journey to manhood. The Man Cave have taken more than 50,000 boys across Australia through their full-day workshops using playful, inclusive and collaborative tools and approaches that fully engage boys in the program. Heathmont College will be offering all male students in Year 9 Level 1 Workshops with The Man Cave. The cost of this Event has been largely subsidised by school. We are requesting that each family contributes $20 towards the balance of this cost. We will not exclude students whose families are unable to pay. A reminder that you can cover the $20 charge by using any available CSEF credit or State School Bonus Funds (SSB-Activities credit). You can email/ring Sandra (Mon/Tue/Thurs) to check if you have any credit to use. We appreciate your understanding.
