Where:
ACMI & Hofbrauhaus
As part of our German programme, we are committed to providing cultural experiences and understanding through a range of activities. As part of cultural studies at school, a visit to ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image) located in the city gives students a unique insight into diverse cultures and storytelling techniques, offering a platform to discuss German movie culture and global perspectives. Afterwards, we will be partaking of a set meal in a German restaurant, sampling traditional dishes. Students on a cultural visit to the Hofbrauhaus get to experience some of the traditional foods of German-speaking countries. |
Students will meet accompanying staff (JRY + CJI + CDR) at Heathmont Train Station at 9:10am. Staff and students will board the 9:40 train to Flinders Street and proceed to Flinders Street Station, arriving at 10.30am. They will then walk 2 minutes to the ACMI at Federation Square. The group will spend 1.5 hours at Federation square and ACMI – museum of screen culture. At approximately 12.15pm, students will walk 12 minutes to Hofbrauhaus Melbourne on Market Lane. They will eat a traditional German meal here. Students and staff will walk 7 minutes to Parliament Station to take the 2:20pm Belgrave train to Heathmont Station arriving at approximately 3:03pm. Students will be dismissed from Heathmont Station. |
