Year 10 OE: Phillip Island - Heathmont College

Description/Educative Purpose:

Year 10 students will be utilising the outdoor environment in Phillip Island to gain understanding of topics covered across semester 1. This excursion will relate to the following topics:

Biomes, specifically coastal biomes.
Being safe and responsible in the outdoors.
Motivations for being in the outdoors.
Conservation.

Students will be required to meet at Heathmont College at 8am and will return by 5pm. Students have been asked to wear appropriate clothing for an OE trip (keep in mind comfort, the weather conditions and the activity). There will be time to purchase lunch for those wanting – otherwise students can bring their own snacks, lunch and water.

The schedule of the day:
8am – Depart Heathmont College via bus
9.30am – Cape Woolamai walk
12pm – Session with Outthere Outdoor Activity group
2.30pm – Lunch stop
5pm – Return Heathmont College
