The Aspiring Leaders Conference will be held at Heathmont College’s HOPE Centre for an exciting opportunity for local primary school captains to embark on a transformative journey of leadership development.
Our goal for this day is to empower our junior local leaders with the essential skills and knowledge needed to become effective leaders within their school community. We firmly believe that strong leadership is the cornerstone of fostering a positive, inclusive, and thriving school environment.
Throughout the conference, our highly capable senior student leaders team, alongside members of the Maroondah Council, will deliver insightful training sessions. The program will cover essential areas:
- Public Speaking: Develop the confidence and ability to communicate effectively in front of both small and large groups. Effective public speaking is crucial for conveying ideas and inspiring others.
- Communication: Enhance interpersonal and communication skills, encompassing active listening, empathetic communication, and conflict resolution. Effective communication lies at the heart of successful leadership.
- Teamwork: Learn the art of collaborative work, leveraging individual strengths to achieve common goals. Effective teams are more productive and better equipped to tackle challenges.
- Problem Solving: Develop problem-solving skills and critical thinking to address various challenges that may arise in your role as school captain.
- Taking Action as a Leader: Acquire the skills needed to initiate and lead positive change within our school community, turning ideas into impactful actions.
Join us for a day packed with learning, inspiration, and connecting with fellow leaders. Let’s join forces to build a strong network of student leadership, shaping a future where collaboration is the key to positive change and everyone plays a part.
