Dear Year 8 Students, Parents and Carers,

If you could please register your attendance for this event via this link

it would be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the term break and we look forward to seeing many of you at this event next term.

Year 9 Subject & Program Selection Information Session @ Heathmont College Grounds
Aug 6 @ 6:30 pm – 7:15 pm

Dear Students, Parents and Carers,

The college has begun the process of planning for 2025. A big part of this planning process is the student’s subject and program selections. Early next term Year 9 students will be provided with information about the subject and programs available to them as they move into their senior years of schooling. It is hoped this will promote conversations of this nature amongst our students and their families.

The 2026 Subject Handbook is available on our college website. This contains descriptions of each of the subjects on offer at Heathmont College in 2026. It

is important to note that our Year 9 students have the opportunity to apply for

an enhancement VCE subject or a VET course as part of their selection. Information about these options can be found in the Senior School section of the handbook.

To support Year 9 students with their selections, we will be running an information session for students and guardians. The details for this event are as follows:

Date: Wednesday 6 August

Time: 6:30-7:15pm

Location: HOPE Centre

To register your attendance at this event, please complete this link.

During this session the subject and program choices will be outlined. There will be an opportunity for questions at the end of the presentation. We strongly encourage students and guardians to attend this session as historically we have observed that when guardians and students have engaged with the information sessions we provide, they are much better prepared to make informed decisions.

Enjoy the term break and we look forward to seeing many of you at this event next term.

Kind regards,

Melissa McMurray

Bunnings BBQ Sausage Sizzle Fundraiser @ Ringwood Bunnings
Aug 10 @ 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Dear Heathmont Community,

We are running a number of fundraising opportunities this year including a series of BBQ sausage sizzles at Ringwood Bunnings throughout July and August. This is an incredible opportunity for Parents, Guardians, Carers, Staff, Students, Families and Friends to come together to work for the betterment of our school’s Performing Arts facilities including purchasing much needed air conditioning for the theatre, backstage communications equipment and microphones.

The sausage sizzles will run from 9:00am – 4:00pm on the following dates:

Sunday 13th July

Sunday 20th July

Sunday 3rd August

Sunday 10th August

To participate and show support you can either come and buy some sausages to support Heathmont College or volunteer your time to help run the BBQ.

If you are interested in volunteering your time, please contact me via email christine.mcfarlane2@education.vic.gov.au. I will be organising a schedule for volunteers to do shifts, we require three people to run the BBQs at any given time.

Thanks in advance for your ongoing support.

Kindest regards,

Christine McFarlane
