This year, every Monday lunch time in the wellbeing lounge will be Mindfulness Mondays. This is a chance for students to unwind quietly with colouring, drawing and puzzles. The last ten minutes will include a mindfulness meditation to help reset before class.

Rainbows club is back again this year in A5 every Tuesday lunch time! All members of the LGBTQIA+ community and allies are welcome!
Rainbows club is a safe space for LGBTQIA+ students to connect with peers and like-minded people. It is also a chance to find out about any relevant community events and resources.

Students will complete a series of tasks exploring Melbourne’s laneway culture, experiencing the best of Melbourne Street art and viewing a range of Melbourne landmarks as they walk/catch trams from one section of the city to another. Starting at Southern Cross Station, in groups, students will complete a series of tasks and navigation activities, checking in with staff at regular checkpoints through the city before finishing at Parliament Station. |
Students need to meet at Heathmont Station by 8:35am for an 8:51am train. Students will be dismissed when the train arrives at Ringwood Station (scheduled to arrive at 3:01pm). Students are allowed to use their mobile phones on this excursion for navigation purposes, to take photos for the scavenger hunt and to make contact with staff via the school mobile phone as required. Students should ensure their phone is fully charged for this excursion. Students will spend time in small groups during this excursion and will have some structured independence from staff. Staff will be contactable throughout the day. Students will meet staff at regular check points along the route. Students will have the opportunity to purchase food/drink (with their own money) during this excursion. Students MUST have a valid Myki card and MUST touch on/touch off to catch public transport. If students are seen not using public transport correctly, they may be banned from future excursions. |
Final full day Rehearsals and Performances at John Cain Arena for the Victorian State School Spectacular.
Students are required to bring their own food for the day as there is no place to purchase food at the venue.
What the students need to wear and bring with them will be added to the resources when provided.

Between the two shows on Saturday students are allowed to leave briefly for dinner but are encouraged to stay with staff at the venue. If possible.
Elevate Education is a company which provides workshops to students in VCE which are aimed to help them succeed within their studies and achieve their goals. Elevates study skills workshops and seminars are designed to achieve behavioural change amongst students. They believe it isn’t enough that students simply understand what they need to do in their study: the challenge in any study skills programme is getting students to use and apply the skills they learn. Elevate gets students using the skills from its seminars and workshops by using an integrated process that works. At Heathmont this year our year 12’s will be exposed to three workshops across the year ran by Elevate to help them perform better in their VCE studies, information about the sessions and dates they will be ran can be found below. Session 1 (31/03): The first study skills session ran by Elevate Education titled ‘Study Sensei’ covers the following topics:

Hello all!
In week 9 we will be having a Health and Wellbeing week- as a fun way to end term 3! This week is to promote physical and mental health. All funds raised from the events will be going towards implementing incursions in 2026 around mental health and activities organised by not-for-profit charity Speak and Share. There will be lots of enjoyable and exciting activities happening which will run in this order:
Monday (15th): RUOK lunchtime event
Tuesday (16th): Basketball competition
Wednesday (17th): Staff vs Students Trivia
Thursday (18th): Staff vs Students Dodgeball
Friday (19th): Walkathon / Colour Run
The Walkathon / Colour run is named “Colour the Conversation” where we will also be having a raffle! The raffle tickets are $1 each and there will be five winners, each will be winning a Speak&Share hoodie.
Consent for Colour the Conversation is $20 and grants entry to both the Walkathon and Colour Run.
Please note you’ll have to supply your own white t-shirt for the colour run!
The 19th is also an out of uniform day so please contribute a gold coin donation.

Additional event details: Students will travel by bus to the venue. We understand that School start time is 9am however due to travelling to venues and arriving on time for the competition we need to leave Heathmont College between 8.50am and 9am Students are required to be at School between 8.30am and 8.40am to ensure they are marked as present and obtain any uniform required for the day and ensure a prompt leaving time. Students are advised to bring lunch and drinks as there is no guarantee that canteen facilities will be available on the day. Please ensure you are prepared for all weather conditions Students may be required to attend period 5 classes, depending on the fixture and time of return to Heathmont College.
