Therapeutic group for junior students experiencing symptoms of anxiety. The group is designed to get students to explore the concept of anxiety, why we have it, what it is good for and how to manage it when it becomes overwhelming. The group will be facilitated by Yvette Larubina and Mel Yoffa, and will be held in the Wellbeing Space once a week for six weeks. There will be a max of eight students and will run for one period. |

Rainbows club is a safe space for LGBTQIA+ students to connect with peers and like-minded people. It is also a chance to find out about any relevant community events and resources.

Students will be visiting the University of Melbourne (Parkville Campus) on 11 June to complete a practical analysis workshop on Organic Chemistry. The Organic Analysis program will introduce students to the principles and applications of organic chemistry and structural analysis. Students will complete an analysis by collecting data from the 1H-NMR and IR instruments and simulated data from the remaining instruments. Lab coats and safety glasses will be provided for students. To travel into the Parkville Campus for the 9:00AM session, we will meet at Heathmont Station at 7:15AM for a morning roll before travelling in on the 7:33AM Belgrave Train to Melbourne Central, where we will catch a tram up to the Parkville Campus. After the session, we will travel back to Melbourne Central for lunch and then travel back to Ringwood Station as a group for approximately 2:00PM, where students will be dismissed. Students will need to arrive at Heathmont College at 7.45am for a prompt 8am departure We will travel by bus to Sandringham and kayak with East Coast Kayaking Group. Once kayaking is completed we will travel by bus Students are to bring their own We can’t guarantee there will be time to stop and purchase |
Students will attend the Melbourne Skydeck at Eureka Tower to see a view of Melbourne that is unrivalled. Following our time at the Melbourne Skydeck, students will have some self-directed time where students will be required to stay in small groups and can experience aspects of the City of Melbourne. Students will be able to communicate with staff via mobile phone during this section of the excursion. |
Students need to meet at Heathmont Station by 8:35am (to catch an 8:51am train). Students will be dismissed when the train arrives at Ringwood Station (scheduled to arrive at 3:01pm). Students will have the opportunity on the day to purchase the following add ons for $11 each if they choose to: Students will need their own Myki card to catch the train. Students MUST travel tap on and students seen fare evading will likely be banned from future city excursions. Students will have the opportunity to purchase food/drink (with their own money) during this excursion. |

This year, every Monday lunch time in the wellbeing lounge will be Mindfulness Mondays. This is a chance for students to unwind quietly with colouring, drawing and puzzles. The last ten minutes will include a mindfulness meditation to help reset before class.
