Students will complete a series of tasks exploring Melbourne’s laneway culture, experiencing the best of Melbourne Street art and viewing a range of Melbourne landmarks as they walk/catch trams from one section of the city to another. Starting at Southern Cross Station, in groups, students will complete a series of tasks and navigation activities, checking in with staff at regular checkpoints through the city before finishing at Parliament Station. |
Students need to meet at Heathmont Station by 8:35am for an 8:51am train. Students will be dismissed when the train arrives at Ringwood Station (scheduled to arrive at 3:01pm). Students are allowed to use their mobile phones on this excursion for navigation purposes, to take photos for the scavenger hunt and to make contact with staff via the school mobile phone as required. Students should ensure their phone is fully charged for this excursion. Students will spend time in small groups during this excursion and will have some structured independence from staff. Staff will be contactable throughout the day. Students will meet staff at regular check points along the route. Students will have the opportunity to purchase food/drink (with their own money) during this excursion. Students MUST have a valid Myki card and MUST touch on/touch off to catch public transport. If students are seen not using public transport correctly, they may be banned from future excursions. |
