Students from both school’s study Indonesian language. Our students have been invited to work with the primary school students to consolidate their language learning and also demonstrate Year 7 oral literacy standards. Our students will be teaching Indonesian language and culture to the primary school students. They will teach the Angklung, dance, animals and read travel brochures to Bali that they have created themselves. Besides providing students with engaging opportunities to apply their Indonesian language skills, this visit also fosters closer collaboration between primary and high school students, including enabling smooth transition from primary to secondary schools. |

Alice in Wonderland cast is running holiday rehearsals during the term 2 holidays. Students who are a part of the show, will be required to attend this event to go through all of the scenes/songs from the previous term as well as learning new ones from the show itself. These rehearsals helps us put everything together for the upcoming musical and give us more time to rehearse. Alice in Wonderland holiday rehearsals run during week 1 and 2 of the school holidays. Students will be given a rehearsal schedule and will not be required to attend all parts of the rehearsal. Rehearsals will start at 10am until 4:00pm. |
Dear Heathmont Community,
We are running a number of fundraising opportunities this year including a series of BBQ sausage sizzles at Ringwood Bunnings throughout July and August. This is an incredible opportunity for Parents, Guardians, Carers, Staff, Students, Families and Friends to come together to work for the betterment of our school’s Performing Arts facilities including purchasing much needed air conditioning for the theatre, backstage communications equipment and microphones.
The sausage sizzles will run from 9:00am – 4:00pm on the following dates:

Sunday 13th July
Sunday 20th July
Sunday 3rd August
Sunday 10th August
To participate and show support you can either come and buy some sausages to support Heathmont College or volunteer your time to help run the BBQ.
If you are interested in volunteering your time, please contact me via email christine.mcfarlane2@education.vic.gov.au. I will be organising a schedule for volunteers to do shifts, we require three people to run the BBQs at any given time.
Thanks in advance for your ongoing support.
Kindest regards,
Christine McFarlane
Year 9 Coordinator | Arts Curriculum Area Leader
