The Student Leadership Outdoor Adventure Camp is an opportunity for students who demonstrate leadership qualities to improve student connections to the College and their peers. There will be a focus on building resilience in the students, developing relationships and working collaboratively in a variety of team roles as a team member and leader, supporting other team members. This camp will be for students involved in or interested in student leadership from years 7 to 10.
Through developing integrated outdoor education experiences, Rubicon Outdoor School empowers young people to develop the skills for positive growth. This learning fosters a deeper understanding of self and others, supported by the skills to contribute to a positive community and sustainable environment. Through this collaboration, students are provided with the opportunity to engage in meaningful learning in alternative contexts. In teaching students in natural environments and providing opportunities for challenge, we promote high levels of student engagement.
Coaches will provide travel to and from the camp, and additional cars will be present, driven by teachers, for transportation in the case of extenuating circumstances and only with full permission of parents/guardians.
Please ensure you have a packed lunch for the Monday. We will be stopping at Queens Park in Healesville in the morning briefly on our way to Rubicon Camp.
Students and families are required to complete an additional consent form for the camp providers Rubicon Outdoor school. Please see the resources tab to download a copy to complete and return to the coordinators office.
This year, every Monday lunch time in the wellbeing lounge will be Mindfulness Mondays. This is a chance for students to unwind quietly with colouring, drawing and puzzles. The last ten minutes will include a mindfulness meditation to help reset before class.
If you are looking for a quiet place on a Monday lunchtime, join us in the Wellbeing lounge for Mindfulness Mondays.

Year 11 students will participate in a workshop run by ‘Elephant Ed’ on Consent Education. This was take place at school and during one of their Career classes. Elephant Ed send young, relatable and highly trained facilitators to deliver fun and engaging sex education workshops. Their evidence-based, age-appropriate workshops are tried and tested across all relevant age groups and are mapped to State and National curriculum guidelines. Every year, they empower tens of thousands of young people to make informed, positive and safe decisions about sexuality, relationships and growing up. The Department of Education mandates that all students from Years 7-12 undertake this education and schools do not need to seek parental consent. Hence, no further consent through the Compass portal is required for this event. More information can be found here: Sexuality and Consent Education: Policy | education.vic.gov.au. |
