In Term 1 Humanities students are studying Geography with their first topic being ‘Water in the World’. Throughout this unit students are studying how we use water, issues of water scarcity and the importance of protecting water resources. Alongside this, students are beginning to develop essential skills for Geography including mapping, field sketches and interpreting data. These skills are cross curricular and are essential to the Humanities, Science and Mathematics curriculum.
Data collected during this excursion will be utilised as part of their first common assessment task (CAT) for Humanities. Students that do not attend the excursion will be provided with an alternative data set. Students will meet their teacher at the netball courts at the start of period 3 and then will walk to Dandenong Creek as a group. Students will return to school for the start of lunch. |
