All VM Students will plan and implement group activities to promote health and wellbeing and evaluate the effectiveness of their activities in building resilience, and understanding, of their own personal character strengths. Students will be given the opportunity to improve confidence, to problem solve and develop strategies to overcome challenges. The planned activities can enhance social skills through recognising and accepting personal limitations and provide students with an opportunity to work on communication and teamwork skills as outlined in the Personal Development Skills study design. The activities expose students to recreational activities that help improve fitness and wellness.
Students will be led through the OHS requirements that are implemented by the business to ensure the safe operation of the facility. Students will participate in a risk assessment of the activities being undertaken, which is aligned to Work Related Skill outcomes. Students will use their experience to complete assessments in Literacy by using a variety of text types to reflect on the program.
